What Is The Gospel?

All Have Sinned

(Ecclesiastes 7:20) For there is not a just man upon earth, that doeth good, and sinneth not.

(Romans 3:23) For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;

(1John 1:8) If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.

Consequence of Sin is Hell

(Psalms 9:17) The wicked shall be turned into hell, and all the nations that forget God.

(Isaiah 13:6-9) Howl ye; for the day of the LORD is at hand; it shall come as a destruction from the Almighty. Therefore shall all hands be faint, and every man's heart shall melt: and they shall be afraid: pangs and sorrows shall take hold of them; they shall be in pain as a woman that travaileth: they shall be amazed one at another; their faces shall be as flames. Behold, the day of the LORD cometh, cruel both with wrath and fierce anger, to lay the land desolate: and He shall destroy the sinners thereof out of it.

(2Thessalonians 1:7-9) And to you who are troubled rest with us, when the Lord Jesus shall be revealed from heaven with His mighty angels, in flaming fire taking vengeance on them that know not God, and that obey not the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ: who shall be punished with everlasting destruction from the presence of the Lord, and from the glory of His power;

(Revelation 21:8) But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death.

Jesus is God

(Colossians 1:14-17) In Whom we have redemption through His blood, even the forgiveness of sins: Who is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of every creature: for by Him were all things

created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by Him, and for Him: and He is before all things, and by Him all things consist.

(Colossians 2:8-9) Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ. For in Him dwelleth all the fulness of the Godhead bodily.

(1Timothy 3:16) And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness: God was manifest in the flesh, justified in the Spirit, seen of angels, preached unto the Gentiles, believed on in the world, received up into glory.

(1John 5:20) And we know that the Son of God is come, and hath given us an understanding, that we may know Him that is true, and we are in Him that is true, even in His Son Jesus Christ. This is the true God, and eternal life.

Jesus is Savior

(Matthew 1:21) And she shall bring forth a Son, and thou shalt call His name JESUS: for He shall save His people from their sins.

(Acts 4:12) Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.

(1Corinthians 15:3-4) For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures; and that He was buried, and that He rose again the third day according to the Scriptures:

(2Corinthians 5:19-21) To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto Himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation. Now then we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God did beseech you by us: we pray you in Christ's stead, be ye reconciled to God. For He hath made Him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in Him.

Whom Will God Save?

Those Who Fear Him

(Psalms 85:9) Surely His salvation is nigh them that fear Him; that glory may dwell in our land.

(Psalms 103:11) For as the heaven is high above the earth, so great is His mercy toward them that fear Him.

(Matt 10:28) And fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear Him which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell.

Those Who Are Broken in Heart Over Their Sins

(Psalms 34:18) The LORD is nigh unto them that are of a broken heart; and saveth such as be of a contrite spirit.

(Joel 2:12-13) Therefore also now, saith the LORD, turn ye even to Me with all your heart, and with fasting, and with weeping, and with mourning: And rend your heart, and not your garments, and turn unto the LORD your God: for He is gracious and merciful, slow to anger, and of great kindness, and repenteth Him of the evil.

(Luke 18:9-14) And He spake this parable unto certain which trusted in themselves that they were righteous, and despised others, "Two men went up into the temple to pray; the one a Pharisee, and the other a publican. The Pharisee stood and prayed thus with himself, God, I thank thee, that I am not as other men are, extortioners, unjust, adulterers, or even as this publican. I fast twice in the week, I give tithes of all that I possess. And the publican, standing afar off, would not lift up so much as his eyes unto heaven, but smote upon his breast, saying, God be merciful to me a sinner. I tell you, this man went down to his house justified rather than the other: for every one that exalteth himself shall be abased; and he that humbleth himself shall be exalted."

Those Who Seek God With Their Whole Heart

(Deut. 4:29) But if from thence thou shalt seek the LORD thy God, thou shalt find Him, if thou seek Him with all thy heart and with all thy soul.

(Jeremiah 29:13-14a) And ye shall seek Me, and find Me, when ye shall search for Me with all your heart, and I will be found of you, saith the LORD:

(Hebrews 11:6) But without faith it is impossible to please Him: for he that cometh to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of them that diligently seek Him.

Those Who Confess and Forsake Their Sins

(Proverbs 28:13) He that covereth his sins shall not prosper: but whoso confesseth and forsaketh them shall have mercy.

(Isaiah 55:7) Let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts: and let him return unto the LORD, and He will have mercy upon him; and to our God, for He will abundantly pardon.

(1John 1:9) If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

Those Who Believe in Jesus

(Acts 13:38-39) Be it known unto you therefore, men and brethren, that through this Man is preached unto you the forgiveness of sins: and by Him all that believe are justified from all things, from which ye could not be justified by the law of Moses.

(John 3:16-17) For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life. For God sent not His Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through Him might be saved.

(John 3:36) He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him.

(John 6:47) Verily, verily, I say unto you, he that believeth on Me hath everlasting life.

How Do I Know God Has Saved Me?

(2Cor 13:5) Examine yourselves, whether ye be in the faith; prove your own selves. Know ye not your own selves, how that Jesus Christ is in you, except ye be reprobates?

(2Peter 1:10) Wherefore the rather, brethren, give diligence to make your calling and election sure: for if ye do these things, ye shall never fall:

Hearing and Abiding In The Truth (Bible)

(John 8:47a) He that is of God heareth God's words:

(John 10:27) My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow me:

(1John 4:6) We are of God: he that knoweth God heareth us; he that is not of God heareth not us. Here-by know we the spirit of truth, and the spirit of error.

(2John 1:9) Whosoever transgresseth, and abideth not in the doctrine of Christ, hath not God. He that abideth in the doctrine of Christ, he hath both the Father and the Son.

Keeping His Commandments

(Matt 7:21) Not every one that saith unto Me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of My Father which is in heaven.

(1John 2:3-5) And hereby we do know that we know Him, if we keep His commandments. He that saith, I know Him, and keepeth not His command-ments, is a liar, and the truth is not in Him. But whoso keepeth His word, in him verily is the love of God perfected: hereby know we that we are in Him.

Loving The Brethren

(1John 2:9-10) He that saith he is in the light, and hateth his brother, is in darkness even until now. He that loveth his brother abideth in the light, and there is none occasion of stumbling in him.

(1John 3:14) We know that we have passed from death unto life, because we love the brethren. He that loveth not his brother abideth in death.

Not Loving The World

(James 4:4) Ye adulterers and adulteresses, know ye not that the friendship of the world is enmity with God? whosoever therefore will be a friend of the world is the enemy of God.

(1John 2:15-16) Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him. For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world.

Spirit of God Bearing Witness

(Romans 8:16) The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God:

(1John 3:24) And he that keepeth His commandments dwelleth in Him, and He in him. And hereby we know that He abideth in us, by the Spirit which He hath given us.

(1John 4:13) Hereby know we that we dwell in Him, and He in us, because He hath given us of His Spirit.

Repenting At God's Chastening

(Hebrews 12:6-7) For whom the Lord loveth He chastens, and scourges every son whom He receives. If ye endure chastening, God deals with you as with sons; for what son is he whom the father chastens not?

(Revelation 3:19) As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten: be zealous therefore, and repent.

Enduring To The End

(Matt 24:12-13) And because iniquity shall abound, the love of many shall wax cold. But he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved.

(Luke 8:13,15) They on the rock are they, which, when they hear, receive the word with joy; and these have no root, which for a while believe, and in time of temptation fall away. / But that on the good ground are they, which in an honest and good heart, having heard the word, keep it, and bring forth fruit with patience.
